A murder suspect in Alabama faces new, unrelated charges in Florida.
Nineteen-year-old Seth Isaac Davis of Slocomb was formally charged last Friday in the May murder of 29-year-old Hollis Salinas of Dothan.
The new charges stem from home-invasion story News 4 first told you about last month. It involved the break-in of a church parsonage in Holmes County.
Last Spring the victim's badly decomposed remains were pulled from the Little Choctawhatchee River by two fishermen.
Items found in the suspect's vehicle, along with DNA evidence reportedly linked Davis to the November home-invasion.
Davis reportedly broke into the home of Reverend Charles Newman of the East Mount Zion Church in Holmes County. Reverend Newman, his wife and two sons were not home at the time of the burglary.
Davis reportedly took thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and firearms.
Davis is being held at the Houston County Jail on murder charges.
Authorities are still trying to find Reverend Newman’s property. If you have information, contact the Holmes County Sheriff's Department at 850-547-3681.
