A Fort Walton emergency dispatcher has been fired and a supervisor may face a similar fate. This is all for allowing a fatal helicopter crash to go undetected for five hours.
The accident happened in October, and killed three crew members of an air ambulance.
No one realized the helicopter was missing until a relief crew reported for duty.
The wreckage and bodies were found in Choctawatchee Bay.
The dispatcher's supervisor also faces possible de-motion, termination, or resignation.
The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to release an investigative report in the spring.
