A man charged with killing six Wisconsin deer hunters is expected to make his initial court appearance Tuesday.
Authorities say Chai Vang will make his appearance from jail instead of a nearby courthouse because of security concerns. The Minnesota truck driver is being held on $2.5 million bail.
The gunfire broke out Nov. 21 after Vang was caught trespassing on a hunting platform on some of the victims' land.
Two of the survivors told investigators that no one in their group pointed a gun at Vang before he opened fire. Vang has said he opened fire after the others took a shot at him first and taunted him with racial slurs. Vang is a Hmong immigrant from Laos.
