An early morning high speed pursuit results in the arrest of a Geneva man.
Authorities say the chase began after the suspect reached for a gun underneath his seat.
The suspect endangered the lives of law enforcement and the general public.
Just after nine o'clock yesterday morning, 32-year-old Steven Spears allegedly led Geneva County deputies and Samson police on a several mile chase with speeds exceeding 90 mph.
It ended when the suspect crashed into a ditch off Highway 52, midway between Samson and Geneva.
Two sheriff's patrol cars were also damaged in the chase.
The suspect had reportedly just bought the chemicals used to make meth when the pursuit started.
Spears is in the Geneva County Jail facing a host of charges which include drug possession, along with reckless endangerment.
