November 12th marks the start of the annual Salvation Army Christmas drive.
Tuesday city commissioners recognized the service the Salvation Army provides for the city of Dothan and those less fortunate.
Kettles will be located at various spots around the city.
There will also be an angel tree at wiregrass commons mall where sponsors can sign up to help a particular child or family.
The funds help more than thousands families each Christmas.
The money also provides assistance to Geneva, Henry and Houston County residents with food, rent, utilities and medicine during the year.
