MILTON, Fla. (AP) - Santa Rosa County, Florida, authorities say they've broken up a major dogfighting operation, after arresting a Milton man with 30 dogs on his property.
Deputies say dogs were chained to steel posts throughout Raymond Teamer's nine-acre property. A sheriff's office spokesman says most of the dogs had wounds, both fresh and healed, that are consistent with dogfighting.
The sheriff's office had been investigating Teamer for months. Teamer allegedly bred pit bulls for fighting dogs in other states.
The dogs found yesterday were taken to the Santa Rosa County Animal Shelter.
