Groundbreaking for New Panama City-Bay County International Airport

Groundbreaking took place Thursday for the first airport to be built in the United States since 9/11.

A delegation of officials along with aviation representatives did the honors of turning the ceremonial dirt.

Construction is officially underway on the new Panama City-Bay County International Airport.

It’s a 330-million dollar project.

It will be the largest airport between Atlanta and Orlando, attracting passengers across a 200-mile radius:

The St. Joe Company donated a 4,000 acre site, for the new airport, in the West Bay community, several miles north of Panama City Beach.
