The board recently voted not to renew its contract with Mark Dunning Industries.
Residents of unincorporated Geneva County began to pick-up their new garbage pails Friday morning. The move affects approximately 4,300 residents.
People can either pay at the time or be billed by the county.
State law mandates garbage service.
Geneva County Solid Waste Director Eileen Bottoms says Geneva County residents need to come by the Farm Center on Highway 52 to register and pick-up their can.
Cans can be picked-up Monday through Saturday at 8 a.m. throughout the month of October.
