An Ashford High School student was allegedly the victim of what his mother describes as a gang attack.
The boy's mother spoke out at the Houston County school board meeting Monday night about safety in and around the school.
Jacquelin Griggs says her son was asked on school property to join a gang and when he said no he was later jumped in front of his house after basketball practice.
“I don't want another parent to have to go through the unexpected medical bills, time I had to take off of work. We've both lost our sense of security in our own home. I know once a school becomes gang infested its hard to get rid of," said Griggs.
Griggs says her son suffered a fractured nose from the attack.
She claims that her son had gone to the principal before being attacked and was later told she did not remember the conversation.
