Some low income families in Alabama will get some help in paying their winter heating bills.
The six-point-seven (m) million dollars comes from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Its part of a one-point-two (b) billion dollar effort by the Department of Health and Human Services to assist lower-income households across the nation.
Alabama officials said the entire amount they requested was approved and federal officials said additional funds can be made available if needed.
