Health officials say they have no choice -- they need the American public to help deal with what could be a significant shortage of flu vaccine.
One doctor from the Mayo Clinic says healthy adults will be asked to delay or even skip getting flu shots this year. That's so that the vaccine can go to more vulnerable patients -- such as children and the elderly.
Those remarks come after a major vaccine supplier announced that it will not ship any doses this year. The British company supplies nearly half of America's vaccine -- but its license has been temporarily suspended because of manufacturing problems.
Now officials are scrambling to come up with solutions. Some are suggesting that the U-S dilute the vaccine doses it gets.
