Hillary Barnard is the new Houston County Junior Miss.
Twenty-six high school seniors vied for the crown during two nights of competition at the Dothan Opera House.
And when all was said and done, a Houston Academy student was chosen as Houston County’s Junior Miss for 2005.
She also received more than $6,000 in scholarship money.
Dothan’s High's Jessie Mann was named first place honoree and Houston Academy's Lauren Holloway was the second place honoree.
Contestants were judged on academics, talent, fitness and self-expression.
Hillary Barnard will travel to Montgomery in December where she will compete for the title of Alabama’s Junior Miss.
