Ready for Hanna

Gulf Power Company is making preparations to restore electric service in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Hanna.

All gulf power employees have been put on standby to make sure they can restore service as quickly as possible.

Here are some tips for customers:

  • Stay away from all downed lines.
  • If you lose power, turn off air conditioning and other large appliances.
  • Don't connect portable generators to your household wiring. This can cause serious injury to you and power employees.

Gulf Power is making arrangements to bring in additional work crews from utilities across the southeast to help repair damage to the company's electric system.
