Coffee County Road Funds

Two state lawmakers brought more than $1 million in discretionary funds to local officials. And now there's money for some major road repairs in Coffee County.

State Senator Jimmy Holley and Rep. Terry Spicer said the money is coming from the Alabama Department of Transportation.

Coffee County Commission Chairman Tom Grimsley thanked the lawmakers for helping to find the needed funds.

County Engineer Randy Tindell said the money will help the efforts to improve roads in the county.

“In the last year, proceeds from Amendment One have helped replace substandard bridges throughout Coffee County,” Tindell said.
