Today, Enterprise City School Superintendent Dr. Jim Reese released the enrollment numbers for this year. The district’s enrollment is up by 198 students, compared to last year.
At Pinedale Elementary School alone, enrollment is up by 40 students. Principal Zel Thomas credits the increase to the school district’s high academic standards. He also says that several new residential subdivisions build along the south side of Boll Weevil Circle have also contributed to the increase. Pinedale, which provides grades 1-6, now has a total enrollment of 560 students.
“Much of it [the growth] is through word of mouth -- parents talking to newcomers about the emphasis on academics -- about what we have stressed in enterprise. I believe this is a big reason for our enrollment,” added Thomas.
As of today, total enrollment in all eleven Enterprise City Schools stands at 6,504.
