The same grant that’s funding home improvement upgrades in Ozark is also allowing road paving projects in the same area.

More than $130,000 is dedicated to milling and resurfacing streets.

Work started Tuesday on Ruby, Valentine, Newton, Tanyard Streets and Fair Avenue.

Mayor Billy Blackwell says they received tremendous damage this winter from freezing weather and rain.

"We're on a 20 year paving schedule but we're way, way behind because the funds just aren't there to do that, so we're thankful to do what we will be able to do this year,” says Blackwell.

The city is making up their 25 percent match mostly with in kind services so the city is having to use very little cash for these projects.
