Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center has been awarded more than $112,000 in grant money. The money will assist child abuse victims and their families.

The local center provides services to children in Coffee, Covington, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston and Pike counties.

Local matching funds totaling a little more than $28,000 have also been committed to the project.

The Advocacy Center offers counseling, crisis intervention, forensic evaluations and court support for child abuse victims and their families.

The grant will also be used to train the center's staff and improve their skills.
