Police need help to find an escaped inmate who has been on the run for three days; 36-year-old Edward Morgan has been missing since Monday night and police believe he may still be in the area.
Police are concerned that because Morgan has been missing for several days, he may use violence or other means to get what he wants and police say that's probably just to get out of town.
"Right now, we're concerned that he has no money or associates in this area," says Cpl. Frank Meredith of Dothan Police Department.
Morgan has been charged with violent crimes in the past and for that reason, officials are concerned about what he may do ensure he gets his chance to flee the Dothan-area.
"He has a wide variety of charges including robbery, kidnapping, assault, car theft; so we are concerned about what he may do to get out of town," says Meredith.
Residents living in the Inez Road area where Morgan was last spotted are taking extra precautions to stay safe.
"We're locking the doors, keeping the lights on and my husband keeps a watch out on the yard," says Erica Donalson.
Police have used tracking dogs to try to find Morgan and lost his trail at the railroad tracks on Inez Road Tuesday.
For that reason, they believe he either headed back into the woods in Dothan or got into a car and has been driven to another area.
Morgan is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds.
He was last spotted near the intersection of Inez Road and Blackmon Road wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
If you have information on the whereabouts of Edward Morgan, call Crime Stoppers at 793-7000. There is a reward up to $1,000.
