MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- A former medical records clerk with the Alabama Department of Corrections has been charged with selling inmates' identifies to people who used them to file false income tax returns that claimed more than $1 million in fraudulent refunds.

Federal prosecutors say Sasha Webb is charged with conspiracy to file false claims, mail fraud and aggravated identity theft. She worked as a medical records clerk for the prison system in Elmore County.

Court records indicate that Webb does not yet have an attorney.

She's accused of selling the inmates' information to a brother and sister who have already pleaded guilty. Harvey James pleaded guilty in October to mail fraud and aggravated identity theft. He's awaiting sentencing. Jacqueline Slaton pleaded guilty in 2012 and received a sentence of nearly six years.
