ATLANTA (AP) - Police say a driver whose car caught fire after hitting a median on I-75 made it out with minor injuries before the vehicle exploded.

Clayton police spokesman Lt. Tina Daniel tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that three left lanes of the interstate were closed for about two hours after the wreck Sunday.

Daniel said the driver of the 2002 Accord was apparently trying to change lanes at the same as a driver of another vehicle in a different lane.
T
he Accord driver overcompensated while trying to avoid a collision with the other car and struck the median.

She said the front half of the Accord was engulfed prior to the explosion and the blast caused fuel and debris to spill on the
highway.
