ATLANTA (AP) - A former NAACP treasurer out of Clayton County is
going to court on accusations that she embezzled up to $30,000 from
the civil rights organization.

Prosecutors allege Donna Hall Lemons stole the funds during her
role as treasurer for the National Association for the Advancement
of Colored People chapter between 2004 and 2006.

The 51-year-old McDonough woman was charged in Oct. 2006 but for
reasons unknown her case was never tried by then-Clayton District
Attorney Jewel Scott.

The case was revived following the 2008 election of Tracy Graham
Lawson as Clayton's new district attorney.

Her trial is scheduled to begin March 15.
