Satilla Riverkeeper to meet Saturday

OBOKEN, Ga. (AP) - The Satilla Riverkeeper holds it annual
legislative huddle, membership meeting and a picnic on Saturday
near Hoboken.
Topics that will be discussed at the 1:30 p.m. legislative huddle include all terrain vehicles in the river, permits for landfills and a ban on the storage of chemically treated groundwater.
The meeting is open to the public.
Satilla Riverkeeper Board Chairman Jamey O'Steen says it's up to
the group to protect the river for future generations.
The gathering is planned for Summerlin's Farm off U.S. 82.
It was the site of the first Satilla Riverkeeper meeting and picnic in
2004.
