FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- A South Florida man accused of attacking his wife during a divorce hearing has pleaded no contest.
During a hearing in Broward County court Monday, 29-year-old Paul Henry Gonzalez entered his plea for the aggravated battery charge.
He faces up to 15 years in prison at his sentencing later this month.
Authorities say 24-year-old Catherine Scott suffered a broken nose and a fractured jaw when Gonzalez attacked her from behind in April 2011.
The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that deputies had to pull Gonzalez off his wife and subdue him with a stun gun.
Gonzalez and Scott's divorce was finalized three days after the attack.
