BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) - A concrete sea turtle that serves as the unofficial mascot of a Boca Raton hotel as been anonymously returned more than two weeks after it was stolen.
Milton, a 350-pound concrete sculpture, was returned to the Bridge Hotel in a moving truck Tuesday evening. Shortly after the
story of Milton's theft was reported in the news Monday, a New York lawyer contacted the hotel's general manager and offered the turtle's return if no charges would be pressed.
The hotel's manager says Milton was commissioned about 10 years ago by the hotel's former owners. It was made by artist and
frequent guest Todd Warner.
Valued at about $25,000, the sculpture was returned with a few
scrapes but no serious damage.
