Two new animated series starring superhero teams are set to premiere later this year, and another series with a massive online following has more available online.
In a recent press release, Cartoon Network announced that “Teen Titans Go!” will premiere on the cable channel on April 23rd. Based on the long-running comic by DC, this version of the series began as a series of small shorts and has a comedic bent. The series features characters such as Robin, Starfire and Raven. It stars the same voice cast as the “Teen Titans” animated series that aired on Cartoon Network for five seasons between 2003 and 2006.
On the Marvel side, a recent press release announced that “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” is set to officially premiere on July 7th on the cable network Disney XD, with a special sneak preview on May 26th. This is the second Avengers animated series to air recently, and will feature the familiar heroes from the recent movie such as Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor, along with the animated debut of the character Falcon. Another Marvel animated series, “Hulk and the Agents S.M.A.S.H.” debut on the network in August.
The most recent season of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” is now available for streaming on the popular entertainment service, Netflix. This is the third season, which originally ran for 13 episodes on the Hub Network. Now, all three seasons of the series that has become a hit with a wide audience, including many adults, are available for streaming on the service. A fourth season is being produced, but an official premiere date has yet to be announced.
