U.S. Representative Martha Roby made a pit stop at the Kiwanis Club on Tuesday.
The Farm Bill is a main concern for the Congresswomen. Roby is part of a bi-cameral panel that is negotiating a final agreement.
Representing an Ag-dependent state, Roby says she wants to make sure the country’s agriculture policy makes sense.
One of her main focuses in the panel is regional equity, to allow the same protections for all types of commodities, not just in certain places.
According to Roby, the House pushed an amendment that was not included in the Senate Bill regarding supply management.
Roby says although there are some disparities between the House and Senate on the bill, she thinks they will be able to find common ground.
