An Elba woman hopes her brush with a scam will prevent others from falling victim.
Trilby Lee says she was contacted by phone five times Wednesday by a man with a heavy foreign accent.
Lee says he wanted her bank account information, but she refused.
Officials with the Coffee County Sheriff's Department say Lee's story is common, but unfortunately there's not much they can do.
"It’s kinda scary in fact I have been wondering if I should change my account numbers and everything,” said Trilby Lee.
The department says the scams are hard to track because the scammer is usually from overseas.
