The Alabama Dairy Association’s Mobile Dairy rolled into Hartford today. Bella, the cow, was the guest of honor at Geneva County Elementary School. Representatives from the dairy industry were also there. They talked about the health benefits of a well-balanced diet, which they say includes plenty of milk and cheese. There was even a milking demonstration for the kids.
"We wanted to show them that milk doesn't come from a jug in the grocery store, or a small carton in the cafeteria, but actually from an actual cow," said Deborah Justice, lunchroom manager.
Tomorrow, the Mobile Dairy will make a stop at Slocomb Elementary School before heading back to Auburn University.
