Freedom Rider at Enterprise High School

An aide to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke to students and faculty at Enterprise High School on Tuesday.

Dr. Bernard LaFayette played a pivotal role in organizing "Freedom Rides" in the early 1960s. He talked about unity, saying it is the key to bringing all races together.

The "Freedom Rides" drew network television attention. This was when angry white mobs attacked black bus riders in their attempt to end racial segregation in the South.

Dr. Lafayette travels the country talking about the importance of the civil rights movement.
