Community's Help Wanted to Stop Burglaries

There have been more than 700 burglaries in Houston and Henry Counties and District Attorney Doug Valeska wants it to stop.

A Kirkland Street home was the latest home burglary target. Broken windows and valuables were taken and investigators are asking for the community’s help to prevent this from happening to more people.

Valeska says the community needs to watch out for each other since burglars take more than just personal items, they also take your peace of mind.

“Burglars, we want you in prison, we want you out of our counties you can pay the ultimate price with your life if you are caught committing a burglary in someone’s house because they have the right to use deadly physical force against you if you are committing a burglary in their home,” said Valeska.

If you have any information about the break-in on Kirkland Street, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 793-7000.
