As weather gets colder, the number of people looking for help increases both Dothan Rescue Mission and 211 offer their services 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Rescue mission officials say it is not just about providing shelter, they also offer classes.
After 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and on week’s 2-1-1 calls will go to the after hours call center in Huntsville. Officials say since it is a statewide initiative they have access to the same database and can provide the same assistance as the local center.
