Former Ozark Klan Leader indicted in Cross Burning

Updated: 12/02/2013 - A onetime Ku Klux Klan leader is charged with burning a cross in a mostly black neighborhood in southeast Alabama. Neighbors in the areas said they do not recall the incident that occurred four years ago. Police arrested 28 year old Steven Joshua Dinkle in Mississippi on November 27, 2013. Dinkle is facing a five count indictment. The charges include conspiracy, using fire to commit a federal felony and obstruction of justice.

Posted: 12/01/2013 - Today in History: On Dec. 1, 1955, Rosa Parks, a black seamstress, refused to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery, Ala., city bus. Mrs. Parks was arrested, sparking a year-long boycott of the buses by blacks. In 1860, the Charles Dickens novel "Great Expectations" was first published in weekly serial form. In 1982, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album was released. It went on to become the biggest-selling album of all time.
