A Georgia company plans on building a zip line across the Chattahoochee River in the Columbus area.
The City Council approved a land deal to make way for the project last night. The zip line will be 1,200 feet.
The plan calls for two parallel zip lines. They will carry people across the river at speeds of up to 40-miles per hour.
Construction is expected to start next year. Officials hope it will be finished before the end of October.
The zip line is part of a larger project involving a white water rafting course that opened earlier this year on the Chattahoochee.
