It may only be October, but it began to feel like the holiday season in the Wiregrass on Thursday.
Salvation Army workers welcomed a large crowd today for Christmas Assistance sign-ups. This program helps families who might not have enough to put presents under the tree.
The eligibility to receive help is based on a family’s circumstance. A horrible event, a major surgery and poverty guidelines are taken into account.
Those wishing to receive help have five more days to sign up. Registration is held between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army.
