On February 10, The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of 26 year-old Cynthia Katrice Johnson from the Choctawhatchee River.

Johnson had been missing since January 10th, when motorists reported seeing a female matching her description on the US Highway 90 Bridge at the Choctawhatchee River.

The body was transported to the 14th Judicial Circuit Medical Examiner’s for an autopsy. There are no indications of foul play at this time.

Sheriff Tim Brown would like to thank the Walton, Washington, Bay and Jackson County Sheriff’s Offices, along with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for their assistance in the search. Sheriff Brown would also like to thank the numerous volunteers from many search and rescue organizations that responded for their assistance.
