A Dothan woman got the opportunity of a lifetime, to share her story with Oprah.
When Anita darkens heard Oprah was doing a life class on colorism, she sent the network her story.
Colorism is a form of bullying in your own race.
Dawkins experienced colorism from an early age.
In November, she was flown to Chicago for an interview and Oprah's producers ultimately chose her story along with two others to be featured in the segment.
She says it was a life changing experience and she got to help others.
"Not giving you too much detail, I had the opportunity to give some of my southern hospitality and in storing it into a 19 year old who is suffering from colorism," said Anita Dawkins.
The episode will air on the Oprah Winfery network on January 10th.
