One of the top priorities for the Vaughn Blumberg Center is to help intellectually disabled people find a job. One county office is partnering with them to make a difference. For example, Kanesha Taylor, got a job through Vaughn Blumberg Services at the Houston County Revenue Commission. Her job is to take the staples out of electronic property record cards. Workers say not only is she an enormous help, but her enthusiastic attitude is one of a kind.
"She is able to help us and has a wonderful attitude and is so excited to be here and her spirit makes us all happy every day," said Starla Mathews, Revenue Commissioner.
There are about 60 thousand property record cards Taylor has to go through. The revenue commission hopes to have the project completed in 9 months.
