Have you ever wondered how we'd manage a disaster in the Wiregrass? The healthcare coalition has a plan.
Today agencies from across the Wiregrass came together with one common goal, disaster preparedness.
The coalition consists of healthcare providers and emergency responders.
If any kind of disaster were to happen, it would take the feds time to get here, so having a team ready to go is important.
"Well we're trying to build up the membership. Basically the more people we have at the table, the better our planning will be and we have a lot of assets we can offer them and the big part is within a five year period we want to build up to the part where we're actually having full scale exercises." said Senior Environmentalist Cyndi Tereszkiewicz.
If you're interested in emergency preparedness and the coalition call the Houston County Department of Health.
