It's the third Annual Severe Weather Sales Tax Holiday and local store owners say Alabamians should take advantage of it, especially in light of the winter weather conditions the Wiregrass just went through.
Beginning Friday, February 21st, items up to $60 dollars or up to $1,000 on generators and temporary power sources can all be purchased without the sales tax.
Local store employees say it's the perfect time to stock up.
"You can never be too prepared for the bad weather, as we've seen the last three, four weeks, all over the eastern part of the United States."
Alabama is one of three states that participate in Severe Weather Sales Tax Holiday, the other two are Louisiana and Virginia.
