Students at one Wiregrass school learned that spending money is very different when it is their own and not their parent's.
Abbeville High School seniors participated in a program called "Reality Check."
Students were given a salary, a family to support and bills to pay.
For many students it was their first time learning how to budget and they got a quick lesson in money management.
"At first i was left with $4.47 and then I realized I had to get a third job to get their clothes and stuff so if I really make that much in real life that is not going to work," said Kayla herring, senior at Abbeville High School.
This program is sponsored by the Wiregrass Research and Extension Center.
