Dothan SWAT officials say you should put on your running shoes and join them in Saturday’s trot for SWAT.

This will be the 4th year for the event and it will kick off Dothan’s CityFest.

Money raised will go toward additional training and equipment for Dothan’s SWAT team.

Organizers say, not only does the run benefit them, it also helps the Wiregrass.

"It builds morale and I think community wide it promotes an active healthy lifestyle which is something all our squad.. .We’re all runners or gym rats so when we started talking about the best way to raise money for our team it made more sense than maybe a traditional fundraising event,” said Sergeant Carlton Ott of the Dothan Police Department.

Sergeant Ott is hoping for around 275 runners in Saturday’s trot.
