Headland High School confirms hiring of Danny Raines as new Head Football Coach

(WTVY) -- Headland High School Principal Jason Bradford confirms the hiring of Danny Raines to become the new Head Football Coach of the Rams.

In a conversation with the WTVY News 4 Sports team, Bradford is, "excited to have [Rains] on board at Headland, and has high hopes for the future of the Rams football program."

Rains comes to Headland from Berry High School (about an hour west of Birmingham) where he coached the Wildcats for the past 14 years. Under his tenure, the program went (102-59) making the playoffs 12 out of the 14 seasons in Berry.

Before Berry High School, Rains coached under Pat Dye and Terry Bowden for 7 years at Auburn (1992-1999).

Danny Rains will be holding the first day of Spring Football Practice Monday, May 15 at 3:15pm.
