Goshen High looking to capitalize on special gridiron bunch

GOSHEN, Ala. From pee-wee to the playoffs: Goshen High is hosting a state semifinal in football for the first time in program history. It's the continuity from grade school to high school that is the key to the Eagles success.

We were working hard all summer and this is what we play for," said senior running back Zachary Alford. "We knew we had a chance to go far because we have been playing together for so long."

"They are all family to me, everyone of these kids," said Goshen head football coach Bart Synder. "(And to) the coaches the same way. Every one of these boys, we are one big happy family."

Goshen hosts Leroy at 7PM on Friday Dec. 1st with the winner earning a berth in the 2A state championship at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
