LAFAYETTE, Louisiana- Following a historic run in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, pitcher Peyton Glover and designated player Talia Truitt have been named to the Sun Belt All-Tournament team, the league announced on Saturday following the championship game.
Glover made five appearances with three starts throughout Troy's six games. She finished the week with 26.1 innings, and threw two complete games with a shutout over South Alabama. Prior to Troy's final game against Texas State, Glover had only allowed two runs on just seven hits. She finished the week with eight strikeouts and a 1.59 ERA.
Freshman Talia Truitt finished the week with an outstanding .727 (8-for-11) at the plate. She set a season-high with four hits in a game as she hit a perfect 1.000 against UTA in Troy's fifth game of the tournament. The Dothan, Ala., native added three runs and two stolen bases to cap her impressive week.
Troy fell to Texas State 9-5 just one game shy of the final, but the No. 23 ranked Bobcats walked away with the Sun Belt Championship after defeating No. 21 Louisiana 5-2 at Lamson Park on Saturday.
