(WTVY) -- It took four trips to the Final 4 in Birmingham, but the Lady Trojans of Charles Henderson and bringing back the Blue Map to Troy.
Charles Henderson took down Central-Tuscaloosa in outstanding fashion 55-37 to secure the first State Championship in program history.
"That's a part of history," says Coach Dyneshia Jones after the win. "Just having these girls right here with me... I've been coaching 20 years but having this group right here is special to me."
The leader of the group, Maori Davenport , finished a block shy ofa triple-double. Davenport scored 17 points, corralled 13 rebounds, and had nine block shots on the day.
Tatyana Siler helped out the team as well, finishing with 14 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
"Last year we were just all crying," says Siler. "It was really sad because we had it and we were hoping that the same thing didn't happen against Wenonah. But this time it just feels amazing."
Charles Henderson finishes the season with a 32-4 record and will go down in history as one of the best Charles Henderson teams of all time.
With Charles Henderson's victory, it marks the first time two girls teams from the Wiregrass bring home State Championships in basketball.
