OZARK, Ala. Carroll High School has won 23 straight regular season games and 25 of 26 overall and during this unprecedented run under the watchful eye of Roger McDonald, they've run over the competition quite literally.
The Eagles have thrown the ball 27 times in 11 games, while smashing opposing defenses with 405 carries -- a 15 to 1, run to pass ratio. It's not a thing of beauty but it works
"If you look on that board you're talking about," said McDonald signaling to a billboard at the bottom of the scoreboard showing the football program's accolades, "they haven't won since 1989 or 90 was the last time they had a region championship. I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do...as long as I'm the coach I'm gonna do what I wanna do. These kids believe in it, they've bought into it."
"I believe. I feel like the reason we're winning is because of Coach and everybody has been disciplined and doing their job," added senior defensive end Javaris Kennedy.
