(AL.com) — Alabama will have to find a new offensive coordinator.
New Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is leaving to take the Atlanta Falcons' offensive coordinator job, the Falcons announced Tuesday morning.
Sarkisian is leaving less than two months after he was named Alabama's replacement for Lane Kiffin.
He will leave having only spent one game as the Tide's offensive coordinator, Alabama's loss to Clemson in the national championship game.
For the Falcons, Sarkisian will replace Kyle Shanahan, who was recently tabbed as the San Francisco 49ers' new head coach.
