Mr. Marvin Britt “Sonny” Carter, Jr., 71, of Ozark, died early Thursday morning, September 14, 2017, at his home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 18, 2017, in Westview Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Reverend David Parrish officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.

Mr. Carter was born November 18, 1945 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Marvin Britt Carter, Sr. and Eleanor Gamble Carter. He was a 1964 graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark and served in the United States Army as an Air Traffic Controller. Following his military service, he worked with Civil Service at Fort Rucker as an Radiographer. Mr. Carter loved to golf and play cards. He was an avid Auburn fan.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Maggie Moore Carter of Ozark; one son, Shane Thomas Dagostin of Panama City, Florida; one aunt, Betty Gamble of Dothan; two uncles, Daryl Teal of Ozark and Harold Gamble of West Point, Georgia; two grandchildren, Garrett Dagostin and Claire Dagostin. Several cousins also survive.
