CROCKER, Mo. -- The Crocker School District canceling classes August 21, the day of the total solar eclipse.

Why may surprise you. School leaders say the district's insurance company requires a lengthy liability waiver from all parents. The waiver would cover any possible damage to a student's eyes from looking at the eclipse.

Instead of getting every waiver signed, school leaders decided to give kids the day off.
