Panama City, Fla. (WJHG) - Panama City Beach Police say that Shoppes at Edgewater plaza is where one person was shot and killed Sunday.

According to Chief of Police Drew Whitman, they received the call just before 9 p.m. yesterday.

When emergency crews arrived they treated one man for gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Witnesses told police that a fight had broken out in the parking lot and several shots were fired.

Police do not have a suspect in custody but have two leads. They say witnesses told them the suspect could be driving a white Honda Civic or a dark hatchback type of vehicle. Officers issued a be-on-the-lookout for the vehicles after arriving on scene.

Police are reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses.

Part of the parking lot is still on lock down as part of the investigation, but all businesses that are open are unaffected.
